July 7 - Goodbye Beach, Hello Expo

Today we left FdM and drove to Milan. I took the kids for one last swim while Jack packed us up.  That's a switch!!  The drive was, at times, bucolic, tedious and terrifying.  Milan is clean, orderly and well sign posted but it's still Italy and Italian drivers are crazy!

We got tucked into our apartment and all set off for the city center to drop off the car.  I was craving an aperitivo to sooth my frayed nerves so we stopped at the first restaurant and too care of business.  Yummy gelato followed! In a moment of inattentiveness, Charlotte's ice cream fell off her cone but, amazingly, she took it in stride!  Unlike the rest of us, her 'baked-level' is always zero!!
